Machinima Powerhouses Project48 & UWA Join Forces

Project48, the powerhouse that helped Chantal Harvey & Scissores in further envigorating the 48 Hour Film Project  has joined forces with UWA for MachinimUWA V: Seek Wisdom and future projects including the 48 EcoFilm Challenge 2012. Another amazing fact is that both Project48 & UWA are based in Australia, albeit at opposite ends of the continent!

This coming together raises the prize pool for MachinimUWA V to L$775,000, with the EcoFilm Challenge carrying an overall prize pool of L$3,000,000, with a minumum of L$250,000 going to the best machinima.

"We are delighted to be partnering with UWA for their 5th Short Animated Film Festival (MachinimaUWA V)", says Tom Papas, Festival Director and co-producer of Project48, "Both of our organisations are committed to working together to develop and create opportunities for Machinima Filmmakers around the world."

MachinimUWA V creator and curator, UWA's Jay Jay Jegathesan (Jayjay Zifanwe) added, "I had long admired the 48 hour film projects, and when I heard that the team that had helped with the development of this concept in a machinima context was based in Australia, I knew that we had to connect. The strangest thing was that Tom at the same time was trying to connect with us, so this turned out to be the perfect match."

MachinimUWA V: Seek Wisdom is accepting entries through 30th June 2012
48 EcoFilm Challenge 2012 is accepting machinima entries now, and will run on the 6th - 8th of July 2012
